There’s a dangerous lawsuit lending practice taking advantage of injured parties and turning our courts into money-making machines for unknown foreign actors called “third party litigation financing.” It happens when an unrelated third party investor finances a lawsuit, taking advantage of our court system by trying to get a high rate of return on their “investment”. The lack of regulation in this highly predatory industry also means that third party lenders—often hedge funds with deep pockets or foreign actors from other countries—can charge interest rates as high as 100% or more!

Transparency is needed to protect hardworking Floridians and to defend our national security from unknown foreign actors meddling in our court system. Please send a letter to Florida lawmakers urging them to vote for HB 1179 and SB 1276.
