Protect Affordable Rates for Oregon Consumers

The Oregon Legislature is currently considering legislation—HB 4018—that could increase auto insurance rates across the state.

If passed, this bill would prohibit the use of risk-based factors—including credit-based insurance scores, education and occupation—for auto insurance pricing, removing the ability of insurers to offer affordable rates and discounts for many policyholders, and forcing lower-risk policyholders to pay more to subsidize higher-risk policyholders.

Speak out against this misguided legislation and tell legislators to focus on passing real solutions that will actually help make insurance more affordable and equitable. Please take a moment to review and send this letter to your legislators today.
